Recently, China Construction Industry Association announced the list of Luban Award of China Construction Projects (Overseas Projects) of Year 2020, and the Myanmar Monywa Letpadaung Copper Mine Project (100kt/a cathode copper) under construction by the Company is among the list. This is the Company's third Luban Award of overseas projects following those for the Taleghan Dam & HPP Project in Iran and the Nam Ngum 5 Hydropower Project in Laos.

Myanmar Monywa Letpadaung Copper Mine Project is located in Monywa city, sagaing province, and invested for construction by China Wanbao Mining Company, our Company undertakes stripping, transportation, civil construction, equipment installation, etc. of the Project. With a total investment of USD1.065 billion, the Project has a designed production capacity of 100,000 tons of cathode copper per year, which is one of the iconic exemplary projects along construction of "The Belt And Road" and the largest hydrometallurgical copper mine project in Asia. Mine software combined with blasting area management system and truck GPS intelligent dispatching system is adopted for the Project, and it has achieved remarkable results in digitalization, intelligentization and delicacy & elaborative management thereof. In 2020, by overcoming the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Project has successfully achieved various construction targets of construction progress, quality and safety with a cathode copper output of 185,000 tons. The Project was awarded the quality engineering award (ministerial level) of year 2017-2018 of China non-ferrous metals industry, 8 invention patents for utility model, 5 sichuan provincial construction technological methods, and 1 item of QC accomplishment. Furthermore, the “Myanmar Letpadaung Extra-large open pit copper mine exploitation technology” undertaken for the POWERCHINA’s scientific and technological program was also awarded by China Association of Construction Enterprises the second prize for scientific and technological progress of engineering construction in 2019.
